What is The Halloween Dog Walk?

Join us for a spooky evening walk round Dunham Massey on the 30th & 31st October.

This Halloween Dog Walk is support of the RSPCA. Dogs are welcome as well as hoomans. Fancy dress encouraged for dogs and hoomans!

You can choose from two start times – 4pm and 6.30pm to complete the illuminated course through the forest and park in time for Tricks & Treats afterwards.

The walk is a circular route on public footpaths, and dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

There will be catering at parking locations, all within a short walk of the course. Marshalls will illuminate the pathways, and you can show your support for the RSPCA by purchasing LED collars and wristbands in aid of the Charity.

  • Sweet & Spooky Treats

Please see our FAQ’s for further information.

FAQ’s

Whilst all are welcome to book for either date, we expect the 31st to be more Halloween themed, and the 30th a more relaxed occasion. Dogs and families are welcome on both nights.

Firstly, you should buy tickets and parking for the same event day and time! Then you can walk together and enjoy the treats at the end together

You have to stick to the outlined course, and must stay on public footpaths at all times. Marshalls will light the way.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Our cancellation policy does not cover normal October weather conditions and it may be cold, wet and windy. If there is a Yellow or worse storm warning, we may have to reschedule the event. Our refund policy does not allow refunds for adverse weather as long as it is safe. Refunds are not possible within 7 days of the event, unless we cancel it.

Of course! Email info@giantwalk.org and let us know how you wold like to help us or the charity.

We are closing the course at 9pm, and the catering and parking venues at 10pm, so you need to be finished by then.

These are available upon request. Please email info@giantwalk.org

We have a no quibble cancellation policy up to 7 days before the event, and your entry fee will be returned in full minus any platform or card fees deducted. Once inside the 7 day period, no refunds are available but you can transfer into a future event.

We have a just giving page link for the charity, but this is meant to be a fun evening walk, and the charity will have fundraisers along the course who you can buy merchandise from, donate to, or discuss long term support.

This is a dog friendly event raising money for a national animal charity. But anyone can enter! All walkers, canine and hooman are asked to pay an entry fee to cover the costs of the event, and donations to the RSPCA are of course encourgaged.

There are no WC's on the course. Our parking and catering venues around the course are open for use.

The route will be marked by marshals with illumination equipment, and there will be feature glow sticks marking the pathways. Stay on the path and always walk clockwise round the course!

The event is open to all ages. Those over 70 have slightly less insurance protection.

Buggies will have to be lifted over the stile entrances to the park area. Sadly due to the National Trust Car Park being unavailable, direct access is not possible without going over the stiles. Access to the parking and catering venues is straightforward, and there are indoor provisions for those with additional needs to stay off the course.
