The Giant Walk began with a single idea: to create an endurance walking challenge that was as much about the people as the distance.
Our original Hale to Hale walk remains the heart of everything we do. Starting beside the Childe of Hale statue on Merseyside and finishing beneath the clock in Hale, Cheshire, the route follows rivers, canals and countryside to create one of the North West’s most enjoyable marathon-distance walks.
As more people joined us, it became clear that Giant Walk could be more than one annual event. Today we organise a growing programme of walks that bring together charities, businesses, schools, sports clubs and local communities. Some are endurance challenges, others are shorter themed or seasonal events, but they all share the same spirit that inspired the original walk.
